Why the price is what it is
$79 is a price for waiting. You are reserving a thing that does not exist yet, on the word of a company at version 0.4.1, and that deserves a discount rather than a deposit. The price goes to $169 when nobody has to wait any more.
We are not building a paid waiting list to fund the hardware. The reservations tell us how many to make. If we decided not to make it at all, every reservation would be refunded in full, and this page would say so first.
What you are actually reserving
A brushed stainless-steel pendant about the size of a USB stick, one side button, a fine chain, the wordmark engraved. It records with one press, holds 200 hours, runs up to three weeks on a charge, pairs with a phone by Bluetooth, transfers by USB-C, and can be found by GPS. What you are not reserving: a subscription, a finished archive, or a voice. The pendant is a recorder. MemoriesBox is what happens to the recordings.

Where does the MemoriesBox device ship?
The European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and Ukraine, in 2027. Euro prices include VAT; outside the EU any import duty is yours, and we say so before you pay.

You hear first, by email, with the new date, and you can cancel for a full refund. We would rather tell you than let a pre-order page go quiet.
Does reserving the device include a subscription?
No. The pendant works as a recorder with no subscription. A MemoriesBox subscription, $139 a year with the first 14 days free, is what carries the recordings into the archive, transcribes them, and builds the voice.
